about

Update: Ravello Records is releasing a chamber music CD that includes Through the Mist, with updated mastering and as part of a collection of music for strings and winds. Check it out at Ravello (www.ravellorecords.com/catalog/rr7901/). So I've disabled downloading here.

Trio for flute, violin and harp. I wrote the trio in 1993 and made a new version with harp instead of guitar in 2010. A lot of my music is nature-influenced. Here I intend for the music to capture a feeling of the gentle beauty on a New England lake.

Ashuelot Sunrise begins with gentle lapping wave gestures and ends with an ecstatic violin solo over a cascading accompaniment. Rocky Shore is more austere, with a knocking motive that keeps coming back. No one else agrees with me that Nocturne seems a bit tropical.

Get the printed music at www.spindrift.com/CatalogPages/misttrio.html. Enjoy!
