I worked on most of this collection of electroacoustic music when I got the Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra sounds, around 2008. I wanted to create textures and atmospheres that weren’t replicas of acoustic instruments, but the sound library kept the music close to those traditional sounds. Little distortions move it slightly away from the orchestral world. Two of the pieces use different methods. Layered recorded sounds in High Flight Remix bring a live musician’s expressivity into an eerie soundspace. Childs Play features the Kurzweil 250 synthesizer, from the 1980s.
