about

The drought had broken the night before I came into the Everglades, and the variety of frog sounds was fascinating. And they were loud! Between toads trilling and frogs bleating, croaking, quacking and rasping, it was almost deafening. A wave of sound would grow in one direction and then fade as another wave started elsewhere. I haven’t figured out all the types of frogs on the recording.
